Answer : IS
It was a tricky question to me. However with the aids of my friends, I’ve came upon this answer with some precise informations.
1. of a certain unspecified number, amount, degree, etc.: to some extent.
2. unspecified but considerable in number, amount, degree, etc.: We talked for some time. He was here some weeks.

In this question, ‘some’ is used as an adjectives which describes unspecified ‘work’. Therefore in this question, we look at the noun before inserting the subject-verb.
